Election 2021 - What Do Canada's Main Political Parties Think About Immigration?

Canada is a country that was built on immigration, and continues to welcome immigrants.  With an aging population, and low birth rate, Canada needs newcomers to bring their skills and abilities to the labour market and to contribute to the economy. Many sectors are experiencing labour shortages, and need immigrants to fill those positions.

All of Canada's major parties are looking at ways to positively enhance the immigration experience. Canada is committed to welcoming immigrants.

CIC News (a regular newsletter looking at Immigration information) has looked at the Immigration Platforms of 4 of the main, well-known Canadian political parties.  Each party is looking for ways to improve the immigration system, and has ideas about various programs, immigration levels, how to modernize the system, etc.

To read about what the Liberals, Conservatives, NDP and Bloc Québécois (only in Quebec) are saying about immigration, read the original CIC article here.

As well, read the Green Party of Canada Immigration Policy, which wasn't included in the article.

There are numerous ways to search for the different parties' thoughts about immigration, childcare, employment, and many other policies. Become informed!
