Upcoming Employment Workshops from the Regina Open Door Society

RRLIP is pleased to share the lineup of workshops for April organized by the Employment Services team at the Regina Open Door Society (RODS).

1. Personal Care Worker Preparation Workshop (in- person): This provides newcomers to Canada with the necessary knowledge, skills, and vocabulary to work as a personal care worker in healthcare facilities or private homes. 

Who can join?
🧑‍🧑‍🧒 all newcomers to Canada (focusing on but not limited to newcomers within the past 5 years)
🎓aged 16 and above who experience cultural and or language/ literacy barriers to employment
🗣️must demonstrate a CLB 5+ level of English proficiency

Workshop details:
Date: March 30 - April 1 and April 7-10, 2026
Time: 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Certification Exam: April 13-14, 2026 | 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM

2. First-Aid and CPR (in-person): This is aimed at  teaching the essential first aid and CPR skills to deal with emergency injuries and illnesses in both home and workplace settings.

Who can join?
🧑‍🧑‍🧒 all newcomers to Canada (focusing on but not limited to newcomers within the past 5 years)
🎓aged 16 and above who experience cultural and or language/ literacy barriers to employment
🗣️must demonstrate a CLB 4+ level of English proficiency

Date:  April 15-16 and April 20-23, 2026
Time:  9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Certification Exam: April 24, 2026 | 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
