This presentation will define what is psychological health and safety (PH&S) and promote better understanding of how it fits within a workplace. Organizational impacts will be outlined while exploring the CSA National Standards to lead attendees to a place of understanding the factors that promote and undermine psychological health and safety.

At the end of this workshop, participants should:

  • understand the Mental Health Commission of Canada's National Standard for Psychological Health & Safety in the Workplace Best Practices
  • learn the 13 Psycho-Social Workplace Factors contributing to mental health in the workplace
  • gain tools to understanding the current state of PH&S in the workplace, and
  • learn how to implement and measure mental health strategies in the workplace to improve the bottom line.

Presenter: Kyle Anderson, Sr. Business Development Consultant, Bridges Health

Kyle has worked in the field of mental health for nearly 10 years as a counsellor, instructor, and direct support worker. His education background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counselling. By learning about the significant link between physical and mental wellness, Kyle utilizes a holistic approach towards overall health. Professional experiences include providing individual and group counselling, working in the fields of substance use, eating disorders, crisis intervention, and mood disorders.
