June is National Indigenous Month

There are many events and resources available to learn more about Canadian Indigenous Peoples.  

Learn more about National Indigenous History Month - you can watch videos, Listen to stories, try crafts, etc.   

Celebrating Indigenous Peoples in Canada: Learning and Activity Guide  - with information, games, stories and activities for adults and children  

Voices from Here Education Guide - A video serries and education guide that shares stories form First Nations, Inuit and Metis participants related to colonial policies, territories and treaties, languages and indigenous knowledge. If you are interested in taking a University course, (free for auditing, some cost for a University Credit) Indigenous Canada is a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) from the Faculty of Native Studies at University of Alberta, that explores Indigenous histories and contemporary issues in Canada.

From an Indigenous perspective, this course explores key issues facing Indigenous peoples today from a historical and critical perspective, highlighting national and local Indigenous-settler relations. Indigenous Canada is for students from faculties outside the Faculty of Native Studies with an interest in acquiring a basic familiarity with Indigenous/non-Indigenous relationships.
