Upcoming Employment Workshops from the Regina Open Door Society

RRLIP is pleased to share the lineup of workshops for March organized by the Employment Services team at the Regina Open Door Society (RODS).
1. First-Aid and CPR (online): This is aimed at teaching the essential first aid and CPR skills to deal with emergency injuries and illnesses in both home and workplace settings.
Who can join?
🧑🧑🧒 all newcomers to Canada (focusing on but not limited to newcomers within the past 5 years)
🎓aged 16 and above who experience cultural and or language/ literacy barriers to employment
🗣️must demonstrate a CLB 4+ level of English proficiency
Workshop details:
Date: March 9-12, 2026 and March 16-19, 2026
Time: 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Certification Exam: March 23, 2026, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Application deadline: February 25, 2026

2. Food Safe Level 1(in-person): This prepares newcomers and food handlers for industry certification by teaching essential skills in safe food handling, contamination prevention, and hygiene. It serves to meet legal requirements, reduce food-borne illness, and support employment goals in the food service sector.
Who can join?
🧑🧑🧒 all newcomers to Canada (focusing on but not limited to newcomers within the past 5 years)
🎓aged 16 and above who experience cultural and or language/ literacy barriers to employment
🗣️must demonstrate a CLB 3+ level of English proficiency

Time: 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Certification Exam: March 20, 2026, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
