Upcoming Employment Programs

RRLIP is pleased to share the following Employment Program:

Regina Open Door Society (RODS): Employment Readiness workshops, starting on October 1st, 2024.

  • The Employment Readiness Workshops are accessible to all newcomers to Canada (focusing on but not limited to newcomers within the past 5 years) aged 16 and above who experience cultural and or language/ literacy barriers to employment.
  • Participants must demonstrate a CLB 4+ level of English proficiency for Daytime workshop and CLB3+ for Evening Workshops.

To enroll in the workshop, interested clients must be registered with Employment Services and meet with their Employment Counselor for the workshop/ certification need assessment.

South Saskatchewan Independ Living Centre (SSILC): Self-Management Course

Participants will learn how to set realistic goals for employment and how to make and carry out a plan for finding and keeping job. Participants will self-evaluate what has been working for them and what has not and find ways to change the things that are not working to be become employed. 

  • Eligibility requirements: Participants will have the self-management skills necessary to engage in the class.
  • October 8-10, 2024 Tuesday to Thursday morning from 9:30 -12:00 South Saskatchewan Independent Living Centre (SSILC) 349 Albert Street
  • This three half day class will teach people how to make choices and plan for employment.
  • To apply, contact Lori Sutherland at 306-533-7103 or [email protected] for intake, which will include completing the Labour Market Services registration form, action plan, and referral to a SSILC counselor.

One of the RRLIP's key priorities is supporting employment and labour market services for newcomers in Regina. In support of this priority, we are happy to share this event offered by our community partner.
