Upcoming Employment Training Sessions for Newcomers
As 2025 begins, RRLIP is happy to share the following information on trainings Regina employment service providers are offering to support newcomer job-seekers.
In January, South Saskatchewan Independent Living Centre (SSILC) has:
Employment Skills Assessment Class - Jan. 20-23 (M-W), 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon
Based on the Color Spectrums model, participants will:
- Identify their strengths and skills for the workplace
- Learn what types of job they are suited for
- Learn ways to work productively with different people in a team setting
- Learn how to communicate effectively with others
- Learn how personality style impacts their disability management plan

Job Interview Workshop - Jan. 27-29 (M-W), 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon
In this interactive workshop, participants will:
- Learn the similarities and differences between in-person and virtual interviews
- Answering interview questions technique
- Practice common job interview questions
- Participate in an online or in-person mock interview
Participants must have a completed resume.
