Tech Skills Showcase - Another Successful Event!

Regina Open Door Society, in partnership with Innovation Saskatchewan, proudly hosted
Tech Skills Showcase on November 8, 2023.

Tech Skills Showcase is an initiative to promote innovative recruiting methods in the Saskatchewan technology sector while showcasing newcomer talent in the province. The goal of this event was to provide a dynamic way to create employment connections for RODS clients, while also celebrating the businesses and individuals who help to grow Saskatchewan's tech industry!

The theme of this year's event was "Doing Good in Your Community". We were joined by 32 highly-skilled participants with backgrounds in coding, programming, software development, project management, and data analysis. Participants split into five teams to tackle challenges around sustainability, community green spaces, and mental health support.

The winning team was Christy Angeline Rajan, Sonika Saini, Sasikala Ramasamy, Hemangi Krunal Shavsar, Srikar Girrapur, and Ahmed Ben Ali. They shared the prize of $1000 for their app-based approach to providing mental health support. Congratulations!

Thank you to our volunteer mentors and judges! Your support is invaluable and we could not run this event without you!
