There are a variety of celebrations happening in Regina on July 1st, 2024.
Tatanga (Buffalo) Day Festival and Powwow
hosted by the Buffalo People Arts Institute
Buffalo Meadows Park (1400 Athol St.)
6 a.m. (Pipe ceremony, tipi raising) - 6 p.m. (closing prayer)
7 a.m. Street Mural painting
10 a.m. Face painting, RPL Art Station, Storytelling, Music and Dancing
Noon - 1 p.m. Buffalo Feast - open to community - and Powwow Grand Entry

Lieutenant Governor's Canada Day Celebration

Newcomer's Picnic and Cultural Village
hosted by Saskatchewan African Canadian Heritage Museum (SACHM)
Wascana Park at the Bandstand (west of Wascana Pool)
Newcomer's Picnic - 11:00 a.m. - 1 p.m.
The Newcomer's Picnic is an event that is held each year to create an opportunity for newcomers to meet fellow newcomers, make connections and become familiar with their new surroundings in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.
The Honoring Tree in Wascana Park represents a beacon of welcome to all newcomers to the City of Regina.

Cultural Village 1 - 6 p.m.
Cultural Village showcases many cultural communities across Regina that come together to share, learn, and perform their traditional music and dance.
