International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination: RRLIP Calls for Fair Credential Recognition

As Canada marks the 2026 International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, national initiatives emphasize dismantling systemic inequities and strengthening community unity—especially through themes such as “Qualified but Excluded: Dismantling Systemic Barriers in Foreign Credential Recognition and Employment” and community‑driven conversations inspired by “Sharing the Table.”
These priorities closely reflect the RRLIP team’s ongoing advocacy. RRLIP works with partners across Regina to identify and address barriers that prevent newcomers from having their skills recognized, accessing fair employment, and fully participating in community life. Its collaborative approach—bringing residents, agencies, employers, and newcomers to the same table—helps build a more welcoming and equitable city.
On March 21, and every day, RRLIP reaffirms its commitment to advancing equity, amplifying newcomer experiences, and fostering a community where everyone has the opportunity to contribute and belong.
