Important Resources for Newcomers: Protections and Credential Recognition Services

RRLIP is pleased to share important resources from the Government of Saskatchewan designed to support newcomers, internationally educated professionals, and the organizations that work alongside them. These tools help individuals understand their rights, navigate credential recognition, and access the assistance they need to build successful careers in the province.
Newcomers arriving in Saskatchewan—whether temporarily or permanently—have specific protections under The Immigration Services Act. It’s important for both clients and service providers to know that support is available, including clear pathways for submitting complaints or concerns. To make this easier, the province has created an accessible online complaint process and developed a simple one-page resource with a QR code linking directly to the form. We encourage you to share this widely with clients who may need it.
In addition to legal protections, newcomers with international education or professional backgrounds can access help through Credential Recognition Services, a government program dedicated to supporting their integration into the workforce. Their team offers webinars, in-person information sessions, tools, resources, and one-on-one navigation support for clients. Organizations are encouraged to connect with the Credential Recognition team to explore collaboration opportunities and to share insights on the challenges newcomers face when working toward licensing or professional recognition.
Whether you are a newcomer seeking guidance or a community organization supporting clients, these resources are valuable tools. We invite you to explore the materials, circulate them within your networks, and reach out to the Credential Recognition Services team with questions or partnership ideas.
