Get Ready for the Big Yellow Bus! Join Regina’s “First Ride” Safety Event
Is your child starting Kindergarten this fall, or will they be riding the school bus for the very first time?
Taking that first step onto the school bus is a major milestone for young students—and can bring a few jitters for parents, too! To help ensure a safe, smooth, and confident start to the school year, Regina Catholic Schools and Regina Public Schools are co-hosting the annual First Ride safety program.
What is First Ride?
First Ride is a fun, hands-on event designed to teach parents, guardians, and young students essential transportation safety tips before school starts.
During the event, families will learn key safety skills, including:

Crosswalk Safety 🚶♂️

Bicycle Safety 🚲
-
Identifying Safety Zones around the school bus 🚌

Safe Loading & Unloading techniques
To top it all off, students will get to wrap up the session with an actual “First Ride” on a real school bus!

Important Notes for Attendees:
This event is held entirely outdoors.
Each full session runs for approximately 2 hours (including registration/activities).
Please come prepared for the weather with a jacket, hat, snacks, and water.
On-site washroom facilities will be available.
