FAQs

The Regina Region Local Immigration Partnership (RRLIP) is a community-based initiative that works with organizations, institutions, employers, and community members to strengthen newcomer settlement, integration, and inclusion in Regina.

Through collaboration, education, research, and community planning, RRLIP helps build a more welcoming and inclusive community for everyone.

Regina welcomes newcomers, values and celebrates diversity, and supports the integration of all residents.

RRLIP and community organizations work together to educate, collaborate, and partner for the benefit of newcomers in Regina.

No. RRLIP is an indirect service project.

Rather than providing direct services, RRLIP works alongside community partners to strengthen local systems, improve collaboration, identify community needs, and enhance newcomer settlement and integration outcomes.

RRLIP collaborates with a wide range of stakeholders, including settlement agencies, community organizations, employers, educational institutions, government representatives, healthcare providers, and newcomers themselves.

RRLIP supports newcomers by:

  • Working with the community to identify needs and gaps for newcomer settlement
  • Encouraging collaboration among organizations
  • Sharing information and resources
  • Conducting research and community consultations
  • Promoting welcoming and inclusive communities
  • Supporting initiatives that improve newcomer outcomes

Local Immigration Partnerships (LIPs) are community-based partnerships funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

They bring together local stakeholders to improve newcomer settlement, integration, and retention through coordinated planning and collaboration.

Organizations can get involved by participating in working groups, attending community forums and events, contributing to research and consultations, sharing resources, and collaborating on initiatives that support newcomer inclusion and integration.

The Immigrant Advisory Table is made up of individuals with lived immigration experience who provide valuable insights, perspectives, and recommendations to help guide RRLIP’s work and community initiatives.

When newcomers are welcomed and supported, communities benefit socially, culturally, and economically.

Inclusive communities foster belonging, increase participation, and help newcomers thrive while contributing their skills, knowledge, and experiences.

Community members can support newcomer inclusion by:

  • Learning about different cultures and experiences
  • Participating in community events
  • Building welcoming workplaces and organizations
  • Volunteering with newcomer-serving organizations
  • Challenging discrimination and promoting inclusion
