🎨 Rooted Connections Presents: Our Cultures, Our Colours Colouring Contest!

Celebrating creativity, diversity, and connection in our community!

Rooted Connections is excited to introduce Kendra, our new Cultural Coordinator! To celebrate this exciting addition to the team, Rooted Connections is inviting children and youth ages 3–17 to participate in the “Our Cultures, Our Colours” Colouring Contest!

Culture is about who we are, where we come from, and the traditions, experiences, and stories that make each of us unique. This contest is a fun opportunity for young artists to express their creativity, celebrate diversity, and share what makes our community special.

🖍️ Contest Age Categories

There are four age categories, giving artists of all ages an opportunity to participate:

• Little Artists (Ages 3–5): Focus on participation, creativity, and having fun!
• Creative Kids (Ages 6–8): Explore colours, imagination, and personal expression.
• Rising Artists (Ages 9–12): Showcase more detailed colouring and creative interpretation.
• Youth Artists (Ages 13–17): Celebrate artistic expression and individuality.

📅 Important Contest Dates

• Contest Opens: October 19, 2026
• Submission Deadline: October 26, 2026
• Pick-Up and Drop-Off Location: Rooted Connections front desk

Colouring sheets will be available at the front desk. Gift baskets will be awarded in each age category, and participants will receive a small token of appreciation for taking part.

There will also be a Community Choice Award, where Rooted Connections staff and families will vote for their favourite submission!

🌈 Everyone Is Welcome!

All abilities are welcome, and creativity has no limits! With permission, submitted artwork will be displayed at Rooted Connections to create a colourful community art wall celebrating the diversity and creativity of local children and youth.

Please ensure your child’s name and age (or age category) are included on the back of their entry. If you need assistance or an alternative format, please let the Rooted Connections team know.

We can’t wait to see the wonderful artwork and unique perspectives our young artists bring to this contest!

Different Cultures. Different Stories. One Connected Community.

Let’s celebrate our cultures and colours together! ❤️🎨
