Regina's Chinese New Year Celebrations Continue

Saturday, January 25th,2020  was the Chinese Lunar New Year, a celebration held on the first day of the Chinese calendar  each year. 

On Sunday, January 26th, the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) featured an article and radio interview, highilighting a woman who was raised in Canada, after her parents immigrated  from China. 

The article talks about the sterotypes Dr. Helen Chang faced and why she "still holds Chinese traditions close to her heart". 

There is also mention of a Chinese New Year celebration being held by the Chinese Cultural Society of Saskatchewan at Lee's Chop Suey on Feb. 8th, 2020. The event will feature a traditional 10 course meal and is open to everyone. Tickets are available by calling 306-525-5027.
