Refugee Advisory Network is Looking for Applicants

The Local Engagement Refugee Research Network (LERRN) is now accepting applications for the Refugee Advisory Network.

What is the Refugee Advisory Network?
Launched on World Refugee Day 2020, the Refugee Advisory Network will create a network of refugee leaders living in Canada that will amplify the perspectives and expertise of refugees in global refugee policy discussions, specifically in relation to Canada’s engagement with the international refugee system.

With the support of LERRN and its partners, the Network will provide mentorship and training opportunities to its Members to enhance their impact in policy discussions and will guide research activities in support of the participation of Members in such discussions. The Network will actively engage in discussions with the Government of Canada on diverse aspects of Canada’s engagement with global refugee issues, and will select, where appropriate, the Refugee Advisor to the Delegation of Canada to future meetings of the international refugee system, such as the annual meeting of UNHCR’s Executive Committee.

Why apply to be a Member of the Refugee Advisory Network?
Through the Refugee Advisory Network, you will:
• Have access to mentorship, training and support to facilitate and enhance individual impact
• Help influence global refugee policy discussions
• Potentially serve as Refugee Advisory to the Delegation of Canada at meetings of the international refugee system, such as UNHCR’s Executive Committee
• Gain experience in mechanisms to influence global refugee policy
