There are several current/upcoming opportunities to get involved in Regina (and Saskatchewan)'s diverse community life, and some new ways that Regina Police and others are getting involved as well. The RRLIP is pleased to share some examples below.
SK Provincial Election - voting Oct. 22nd-28th
If you are a Canadian citizen, you are allowed to vote in municipal/civic, provincial and national/federal elections to choose the next leaders.

Call for Members: City of Regina 2SLGBTQIAP+ Advisory Group
The City of Regina invites members of the 2SLGBTQIAP+ community in Regina to apply for the new City of Regina 2SLGBTQIAP+ Advisory Group and/or to circulate this call. They are looking for organizational members and community members.
Responsibilities:
Organizational Members will provide informed insight into the experiences of the 2SLGBTQIAP+ people they serve and provide feedback about how City programs, services and projects can meaningfully engage with 2SLGBTQIAP+ serving organizations in Regina.
Community Members will be responsible for providing informed insight into the intersection of their specific experiences or field of expertise and the experiences of 2SLGBTQIAP+ people.
Time Commitment: Group will meet at least 4 times a year (8 hours). The Group will also be expected to review and provide feedback on documentation or project work outside of meetings.
Term: Terms will be one year in length and members can serve up to 3 years consecutively.
Applicants must:
- Be eighteen years of age or older, self-identify as 2SLGBTQIAP+, and be based in Regina or the surrounding area;
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills; and
- Be able to analyze information and participate in making recommendations through group consensus.
- Have an understanding of 2SLGBTQIAP+ communities and issues.
Community Members shall have volunteer or personal experience or professional expertise related to one or more of the following:
- Human Resources;
- Community work with equity-deserving groups such as Indigenous communities, BPOC communities, people with disabilities/disabled people, older adults, and
newcomers - Recreation and sport;
- Facilities, building standards, architecture or design
- Arts and culture;
- Communications;
- Law;
- Policy;
- Fund development or administration;
- Grant writing or adjudication; and/or
- Community-led research.
Benefits:
Honorariums of $50/meeting will be provided to all Community Members, to acknowledge the value of their lived experience. Secondary costs associated with attending meetings including but not limited to bus fare, parking fees, interpretation services, and childcare may be reimbursed upon request.

Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan (MCoS)
MCoS Funding Opportunity for Schools/School Boards in SK:
MCoS offers $200 – $400 Multicultural Education Initiative (MEI) grants to schools and school boards in Saskatchewan to benefit students through classroom and professional development projects that support anti-racism, reconciliation, diversity and cultural education outcomes and promote the understanding, respect, appreciation, acceptance and celebration of all people as equally valuable in our society. MCoS supports 25 to 50 educational projects each year.
