BCC: Bridging the GAP
The Brown Citizen Circle (BCC) is a newly established community organization that aims to elevate the voices of BIPOC youth.

BCC will be hosting a BIPOC Youth Social Policy Case Competition at the end of August that is targeted at inspiring all BIPOC youth to participate equally in all spheres of influence and decision-making. The topic of the case competition is analyzing COVID-19 response management and the impacts of racialization. Cash prizes will be awarded!

As a participant in our case competition, you will analyze COVID-19 response and the impacts of racialization in Canada to create your own changemaking social policy solutions. The competition is grounded in three of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These are as follows:
Sub-topic #1, Environmental Justice (SDG 13: Climate Action);
Sub-topic #2, Racialization and Healthcare (SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being); and lastly,
Sub-topic #3, Equitable Organizations (SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities).

August 26-29

August 26- Kickoff: 5:00 PM - 8:00PM EST
August 27-Mentorship meetings: 10:00 AM- 4:00 PM EST (sign-ups are required and will open on August 26 at 12pm EST)
August 28- Presentation day: Ongoing, throughout the day (all teams to present)
August 29- Final competition day: 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM EST (top six teams to present)

Eligibility:

Participants must be between the ages of 15 and 29 years old.
Participants must reside or attend school/university in Canada.
Register by August 14th, 2021 to ensure your participation.
