Free! Celebrate world Heritage Language Day! Program on February 11th!
February 21st is International Mother Language Day, as proclaimed by UNESCO, a day to remember that we must promote the preservation and protection of all languages used by people of the world.
This is a task that SOHL (Saskatchewan Organization for Heritage Languages) does daily with their mission: Keeping Languages Alive.
This year we will be celebrating early on Saturday, February 11th, 2017 to bring in the celebrations with music, dance, and friendship.
The day will be hosted at the Campbell Collegiate Currie Auditorium which can host a large audience, so remember to spread the word!
The event will be from 1:00-4:00pm on the Saturday afternoon, with reception to follow.
Below is a message from SOHL for any cultural performance groups!
As always we are looking for cultural groups to perform at the event; these groups can have focus of dance, singing, instrumental music, or all of the above!
Attached is a Performance Application, which is due January, 20, 2017!
When filling out an application, please keep the performance within 10 minutes (these 10 minutes you can divide as you like to accommodate your performance).
These cultural groups do not need to be professional, we encourage you to submit applications for any art groups from your language schools!
If you have any questions about the application or the day of the event, please contact Chloe via phone or email.
