Youth Mental Health and Wellness - Lunch and Learn
We live in challenging times with many people feeling intense anxiety and other Mental Health concerns related to COVID-19 and other health and mental health inequities. This includes young people. The workshop intends to give some understanding of mental health and wellness concerning our current life experiences.
The hope is that:

1. Participants would have a better account of mental health and wellness at the end of the workshop, and

2. Become familiar with some powerful tools (some decolonized and indigenous) in managing life stressors.

Black Representation and Mental Health
In a world where whiteness is upheld as the standard, simultaneously society is telling our Black youth they don't belong and are not inherently valuable and or good enough. With the lack of Black representation and overuse of stereotyped representation through media, our education system, and career choices, many Black youths are plagued with everyday experiences of anxiety, depression, and racial trauma as their Black identity is being stripped or villainized. This workshop will explore some of the ways in which the lack of representation and overuse of stereotyped Black representation is impacting Black youth's mental health and how we can support these youth to improve their mental health and overall well-being.
