Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan (MCoS)

The Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan (MCoS) is committed to promoting, fostering, improving and developing multiculturalism in the cultural, economic, social, and political life of Saskatchewan, while working to achieve equality of all residents. As a provincial not-for-profit, non-governmental agency, MCoS supports five streams of multicultural work:
Cultural Continuity
Celebration of Diversity
Anti-Racism
Intercultural Connections
Integration
MCoS is proud to have played a role in the creation and ongoing awareness of the Saskatchewan motto: From Many Peoples Strength and the Saskatchewan Multiculturalism Act. It often works in partnership with other organizations to achieve its goals.

MCoS strives to:

Promote recognition of the benefits of cultural diversity in Saskatchewan
Assist in the development and acceptance of multiculturalism
Recognize the special contribution which refugees and immigrants bring into our province and assist in the integration process through education,
Recognize the special contributions which First Nations and Métis people provide to our province and encourage cultural competency and intercultural connections
Promote positive cross-cultural relations through cross-cultural communication, contact and understanding.

MCoS supports its members (including organizations, institutions/businesses/governments and individuals and the thousands of volunteers involved),  and the public with promotional campaigns and materials, sales of products that promote multicultural values, such as the Multi-Faith Calendars, a monthly electronic newsletter, investment in various programs, information and community connections, workshops and other learning opportunities.
