Upcoming NEW/SENA Events - Thursday, May 9th

There are 4 activities planned for Thursday, May 9th as part of Newcomer Employment Week / Semaine pour l'emploi des nouveaux arrivants, 2019: 

  • Introduction to the Career Enhancement Program 
    10:30am - 11:30am at Labour Market Services (1955 Broad Street)
    This will be an opportunity to learn about the Career Enhancement Program - the application process, admission requirements and what is involved in the program itself.
    The Career Enhancement Program runs out of Saskatchewan Polytechnic and provides individuals with the skills, contacts and confidence they need to make a successful transition back into employment. 

  • Online Application Process for City of Regina Jobs 
    1:30pm - 3:30pm at Labour Market Services (1955 Broad Street) 
    Come learn about what the City of Regina looks for in selecting applicants for jobs and review the full on-line application process with City of Regina staff. Participants will also be able to apply for jobs after the session with staff there to assist. 

  • Steps to Starting a Business
    2:00pm - 4:00pm at Regina Immigrant Women Centre (1801 Toronto Street) 
    This workshop covers topics such as: how to create a business plan, different kinds of business ownership, what a business might need to get started, and the financial services you will need to get started.   • Networking Event for Professionals
    7:00pm - 9:00pm at George Bothwell Library Branch (2965 Gordon Road)
    This is a free drop-in networking event for newcomers with a background in accounting/finance, IT, or engineering who plan to re-enter their professional career in Canada. (See attached poster for more details)
