Regina's Pride Festival is This Week - June 7th - 16th, 2019
The Government of Saskatchewan has proclaimed June to be "Pride Month" each year. Regina's Pride Festival is called Queen City Pride and is a 10-day celebration of the LGBTQ community and features many events that educate, entertain, and enlighten participants about our gender and sexually diverse communities.
As 70 countries worldwide continue to view same-sex relations as a crime (and in seven of those countries it is punishable by death) it is important that we recognize that many newcomers have found great comfort in the safety and acceptance that Canada provides to LGBTQ individuals.
The annual Queen City Pride Parade will occur on Saturday, June 15th and has grown to become one of Regina’s most colourful and recognized parades. The Parade will begin on Saturday at 12:00pm and this is a family-friendly event that anyone is welcome to attend. More information on the Parade (location, route, organizations involved, etc.) can be found here https://queencitypride.ca/pride-parade/
