LINC Classes at University of Regina. New semester, new classes added.  Register now!

The University of Regina is adding more LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) classes. 

From January 8th 2018, regular evening classes plus day time classes and Saturday class will be offered to newcomers - to fit various schedules.

LINC students are registered as UR students, so are eligible to use the library, get a UR buspass, have a tutor, join the conversation club, participate in University activities and more.

Classes include: CLB Literacy (Phase 1-4) and CLB Levels 1-4

The new course options are:

Evening Class
1.Two evening classes per week: 3 hrs/day, 2 days/week
Monday and Wednesday 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Tuesday and Thursday 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm


2. Four evening classes per week: 3 hrs/day, 4 days/week
Monday to Thursday 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm


Weekend Class
1. One Saturday class per week: 5 hrs/day, 1 day/week
Saturday 9:00 am – 2:30 pm


Day Time Classes
1. Full Time: Five daytime classes per week: 5 hrs/day, 5 days/week
Monday to Friday 9:00 am – 2:30 pm
2. Part Time: Four daytime classes per week: 3 hrs/day, 4 days/week
Monday to Thursday 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Childcare will be provided for evening students.

To register, students must:

  • be 18 or older
  • be a Permanent Resident
  • be assessed at levels Literacy to CLB 1-4 on the CLB Placement Test (CLBPT)
  • get a referral form to bring to the University LINC office so you can register
  • have an official language assessment done at
                Language Assessment Referral Centre (LARC)

There is ongoing registration, so students can join at any time!

1) Get your CLB (Canadian Language Benchmarks) Placement Testing done

2) Get your CLBPT score and a referral card 

3) Bring your PR confirmation, CLBPT score and referral card to:
