Community Volunteer Income Tax Program   

Do you need a hand to prepare your Income Tax return?    

Volunteers can help you prepare your income tax and benefit return if you have a low to modest income AND a simple tax situation.    

Volunteers are not employees or volunteers of the Canada Revenue Agency.  

Remember to bring all your income and deduction information with you.

Eligible Individuals
Individuals who are unable to prepare their income tax return on their own, have low to modest incomes and a simple tax situation.

These individuals include:

  • newcomers to Canada,
  • people on social assistance,
  • seniors,
  • students,
  • First Nations,
  • single parents,
  • people with disabilities
  • many others.


Ineligible Individuals 

  • Deceased
  • Bankrupt
  • Self Employed
  • Who have capital gains or losses;
    employment expenses; business / property
    rental income and expenses.

INCOME MAXIMUMS:
Family Size                               Family Income
Single Person                              Up to $30,000
2 Person Family                          Up to $40,000
3 Person Family                          Up to $42,500
(each additional Family member -   add $2500)
